Teacher of Maths
Permanent Contract Full Time
The St. David’s Centre
To start Spring/Summer Term 2026
MPS / UPS
Herefordshire Pupil Referral Service (HPRS) provides education to pupils unable to attend mainstream school for various reasons. The service is currently split over five sites located within Herefordshire – St David’s Centre (KS4), The Aconbury Centre (KS3) and H3 (Hospital, Home, Hub Teaching Team) as well as our outdoor learning centre at Dinedor and The Harvest Project. This post is for teaching at the St. David’s Centre.
We provide a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment in which young people can grow as responsible, independent and self-confident learners. We are looking for a maths teacher who is enthusiastic about their subject and wants to share that passion with young people.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective Maths teaching across Key Stage 4, up to and including GCSE to all abilities. The ability to teach a second subject is also desirable.
Experience of working in a PRU setting would be advantageous but not essential. We are looking for someone who is approachable, reflective, calm and cares about making a difference to young people who have experienced difficulties in their learning in the past. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with small groups of pupils and encourage them to realise that they can experience success in not just their studies but in their life in general.
Our aim is to re-engage our pupils in learning and to provide them with a high-quality curriculum where they can develop their skills in a safe and secure environment.
You must be:
· Fully committed to learning, high quality teaching and raising standards of all Pupils.
· Passionate about your subject; able to inspire and motivate pupils and staff.
· Committed to ensuring all pupils reach their potential
· Able to recognise opportunities and face challenges, whilst maintaining your sense of humour and care for young people.
· Capable of promoting partnerships and collaborative working.
· A positive role model for our pupils and staff.
For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact Beverley Blower, Headteacher at HPRS on 01432 274485.
Application forms and further details are available from Hoople. Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview.
Closing date: Monday 1st December 2025 @ 12.00 noon
Interviews: Monday 8th December 2025
HPRS is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils and therefore all candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Enhanced Level.
