The Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a confident and cheerful Senior Lab Technician for our Science Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and operation of a large Science preparation room and the provision of comprehensive scientific technical support for a team of highly motivated and supportive Science teachers, delivering all aspects of the Science curriculum at both KS3 and KS4.
The successful candidate will need significant scientific knowledge, as well as excellent planning and time management skills to efficiently carry out the following responsibilities:
· timely and effective preparation and delivery of practical equipment and resources.
· operation and maintenance of the well-stocked and equipped preparation room, including the preparation of chemicals.
· controlling stock and placing orders to ensure all teaching and learning needs are met.
The Senior Science Technician will also have line management responsibility for Science Technicians within the department.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience of managing a team and a working knowledge of COSHH guidelines, along with their implementation, is desirable. The successful candidate will be supported with training and development.
