Job details
The Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a reliable and helpful team-player to join our Science Technician Team.
The successful candidate will be part of a large science preparation room to assist within the Science Faculty providing Science equipment for lessons.
Previous Science experience would be desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.

The successful candidate will have:
o the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
o to be accurate and organised in their working
o be prepared to undergo appropriate training and professional development
o enthusiasm and a strong commitment to, safeguarding and the welfare of all students
o humour, perspective and an ability to bring out the best in others
Elements of the job role will include:
o Supporting the teaching of Science by preparing, setting out, storing, maintaining and providing materials and equipment.
o Monitoring stock levels of materials, chemicals, equipment, books and stationery.
o Preparing, distributing, replenishing and collecting experiments, equipment and demonstrations and putting equipment, materials and chemicals away after use.
o Clearing up and cleaning in laboratories and preparation room, ensuring a safe environment.
o Minor repairs (within limits of competence and safety) on apparatus and equipment.
o Maintain an up to date knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, technical activities and developments for which in-house and external training options are available.
o Assisting other technicians
