Experience of working with students with SEN is desirable but full training will be given for the right candidate.
Your role involves supporting students to actively participate in lessons, working with students to help them meet their targets, promoting independence and developing their confidence and self-esteem; as well as providing small group and 1:1 intervention lessons.
The SEN TA will complement the professional work of the teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities. This will involve adapting, preparing and delivering learning activities, for individuals and small groups. A good standard of literacy and numeracy is required for this post.
We are looking for a person who ideally:
- Has the ability to use their initiative and ensure children's needs are met inclusively
- Is a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a willingness to attend training in order to best meet individual children's needs
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to work in a staff team where your skills, enthusiasm and hard work will be appreciated
- Active commitment and support for your professional development
If you think that you have the skills to offer and would like to join our supportive team we would love to hear from you.
Kingstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
