Home First is a short-term reablement service delivered in close partnership with the local authority, Wye Valley Trust, and a wide network of professionals. Our mission is to support individuals in maintaining their independence within the comfort and familiarity of their own homes and communities. Each year, we provide over 55,000 hours of care to more than 700 people.
Our approach is firmly person-centred, focusing on tailored outcomes that empower individuals to live as independently as possible, with support from their loved ones and professionals. We believe everyone should be able to thrive in their own environment - with dignity, respect, equality, and compassion.
To deliver this, we invest in our team - nurturing their growth through ongoing support, mentorship, and the sharing of best practices. Through training, qualifications, and peer-to-peer learning, we ensure our staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to make a meaningful difference.

Meet the management team

Ellie has worked in health and social care for 30 years. During her career, Ellie has had the pleasure of working in residential and nursing settings, caring for individuals with dementia, learning disabilities, epilepsy, strokes, Parkinson’s and brain acquired injuries. She has gained skills and knowledge in clinical and non-clinical settings. Ellie's passion is reablement and having the privilege to support individuals to regain levels of independence that enables them to remain at home in the community. She has worked for Home First since 2019, starting as an Assessment & Review Officer and progressing through the service before becoming Manager in August 2023 and receiving her CQC registration in February 2024.

Stephen joined Hoople in 2020, bringing with him over 20 years of senior management experience across Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Ofsted-regulated Further Education (FE) services. He has a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and managing complex, outcome-focused contracts across England and Wales. At Hoople, Stephen is instrumental in the strategic direction of our CQC-registered services. Leveraging his extensive background in care, further education, and welfare-to-work programmes, he ensures our services not only meet but exceed regulatory standards. A key part of Stephen’s leadership has been championing the digital transformation of our care services. Under his guidance, Hoople has embraced innovative technologies to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and ensure better outcomes for the individuals we support. His forward-thinking approach is helping to future-proof our services and align them with the evolving needs of the care sector.

Tammy joined Hoople Care as Quality Manager in January 2024, bringing with her many years of experience in the care sector, along with a training and assessing background. Prior to starting at Hoople, Tammy was the Quality & Review Lead for Herefordshire Council. Tammy has a passion for ensuring that those in need of support receive the best care experience possible. She supports Hoople Care to meet CQC standards and legislation, and works closely with the care teams to develop, monitor and support service improvements.
